Community Journalism Class
The mission of Jour 4175: Brovald-Sim Community Journalism Practicum is to cover a hidden campus community every Spring semester. Communities have included the disabled community, nontraditional students, the First Gen community and those affected by Operation Metro Surge.

Photojournalism
In addition to written reporting, our students enjoy a rigorous curriculum in photojournalism and visual communication — critical skills in a face-paced and increasingly visual media landscape. Every spring, the Hubbard School hosts Northern Exposure, a two-day conference bringing in working professionals to discuss everything from good gear to good practices in the realms of covering stories about sports, politics, the arts and more. Northern Exposure also presents awards in a variety of categories; view our students' winning work below.
