About the Minnesota Journalism Center

The MJC is based at the University of Minnesota's Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. We help journalists across career stages and across the state better serve their communities by fostering a healthy, more sustainable and more inclusive local news ecosystem.

Our goal is to strengthen journalism in the state by connecting local journalists with resources, research, students, opportunities, training — and each other.

Help us shape the program

The Minnesota Journalism Center is regularly launching new efforts to support, connect and train working journalists, publishers and newsrooms across Minnesota to ensure a sustainable future for local news.

But we need your help. We are just beginning this work — and want to hear from Minnesota journalists about the opportunities, needs and possibilities they see for building a more connected, robust journalism community together. What does Minnesota journalism need?
